How to check why the outdoor flashlight is not bright
Flashlights are a tool we often use when traveling outdoors, especially at night, which gives us more convenience. However, we will also encounter the situation that the flashlight is not bright, which will undoubtedly bring us a lot of inconvenience. The structure of the outdoor flashlight looks very simple, but we don’t know where the fault has occurred. Next, we will teach you how to Analyze the cause of the failure.

In order to troubleshoot the cause of outdoor flashlight failure, we must first understand what is a flashlight. The flashlight is composed of a cylinder, a battery, a bulb (incandescent lamp, LED lamp), a switch (which is integrated on the cylinder), and a reflector. Working principle: push the switch, the spring piece is in contact with the electrode of the metal spiral of the bulb, the circuit forms a closed loop conduction, and the current passes through the tungsten wire with a certain resistance in the bulb, and the tungsten filament generates heat. Rotate the flashlight’s lampshade (reflector) left and right to adjust the amount of light collected and scattered (adjusted to the light that is considered appropriate).

- When the outdoor flashlight is not lit, the first thing we have to think of is to replace the battery of the same model. If the battery is still not lit after replacing the battery, further inspection is needed.
- Then open the tail cover of the outdoor flashlight. When opening the tail cover, we must hold the middle part of the flashlight, otherwise the lamp cap will be unscrewed.
- Find a piece of metal. If you can’t find a key, connect the negative side of the battery to the outer casing of the flashlight. If your outdoor flashlight is bright, it means the flashlight switch is broken. If it is still not lit, it means that the lamp part is problem. If the lamp of the lamp head is broken, it is generally not necessary for maintenance, but if the switch is broken, it can be easily repaired.
- Look inside the cover of the outdoor flashlight, inside which is actually a switch screwed inside. Some are glued to the inside, so the general opening is broken, we can add a few drops of alcohol to this switch, and then press the switch several times. This is to clean the internal switch contacts.
- If the switch inside the cover is not glued, you can use two nails to cross, so that the internal switch can be screwed out and then cleaned or replaced according to the damage.
